Jones Charter Academy
In 1996, the Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences (PSAS) opened its doors to the Pueblo Community at the Jones Campus. PSAS was founded on the Paideia philosophy on the premise that the arts would be a major component of the curriculum and would be important as core classes. The study of science and engineering is woven throughout the curriculum. All grade levels are encouraged to do hands-on science experiments and make the subject come to life. We are preparing students for the next step in their educational journey.
When a student walks through the hallways of the Jones Campus, you can see that art has a very important place within our campus, as you see student work on display. From ceramics to watercolor, to sculpture and photography, all art forms are embraced at this school. We genuinely believe allowing one to express themselves artistically will enable them to focus better on their core subjects.

Band & Choir
Both our Marching Band and Concert Band programs are celebrated groups because of their accomplishments. In the past four years, Marching Band has earned one 3rd Place and two 2nd Place finishes for Middle School Marching Band at the Blossom Festival. They have also earned Outstanding Drum Major and Outstanding Drumline twice. At the Festival in the Parks Competition in Denver, they earned 1st Place Marching Band. Several of our band students have also earned spots in the Pueblo All-City Middle School Honor Band.

Art
Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences was founded 22 years ago on the premise that the ARTS would be a major component of the curriculum and just as important as the core academic classes. To this day when one walks through the hallways of PSAS, you can see that Art does have a very important place in this school as you see student work on display. We put on our own Art Shows throughout the year as well as participate in other art shows throughout the region. We truly believe allowing one to express themselves artistically allows them to focus better on their core subjects.

Science & Engineering
At PSAS the study of science and engineering is woven throughout the curriculum. All grade levels are encouraged to do hands-on science experiments and make the subject come to life. For the past two years, PSAS has been the Southern Colorado Design and Engineering champions at the CSU-Pueblo engineering contest. In the spring of 2017, a brand new “Maker Space” modular on the grounds gives students an even better place to learn how to build, invent, and construct. Taking STEAM education to a whole new level in a classroom designed for hands-on creativity. We are preparing students for the next step in their educational journey.
